This assignment was a slideshow displaying how the principles of lens optics we have been studying in physics can be applied in the real world in devices such as binoculars, telescopes, and contact lenses. It addresses Thinking and Problem Solving Skills, because I had to figure out how the theories I had already learned about could apply in a real-life situation. I am most proud of the diagrams that I found to put into my slideshow, because I think they're simple enough to be readable without being too vague. I improved my Thinking and Problem Solving Skills in this assignment because I used them in a physics setting, whereas I have usually used them in a mathematical sense. The most difficult part of this assignment was figuring out how to phrase the explanation of each real-life application in a simple way, so that someone who hasn't been studying lens optics could understand it. The one thing I would improve from this project is making those explanations a bit shorter, since they ended up being pretty lengthy. This project directly relates to my past learning in physics, since it is a real world application of the theories we have been studying. I can apply this to future learning by taking new physics principle that I study in the future and figuring out how they would apply in a real-life situation.
